Default Display Handling Fee & Shipping Weight Even When Providing Free Shipping

    Hi,

My store is offering free shipping for purchases above a certain dollar amount though Handling Fee is still applicable. I am wondering how I can clearly show these fees in both the email send to customers and the invoice.

At the moment, the Invoice generated (by clicking the invoice button in Admin->Customers->Orders) is

    Code:
    Sub-Total: $45.60
Free Shipping Options (Free Shipping): $1.50
    Total: $47.10
I would like to know how to change it to (pls note changes indicated in blue):
    Code:
    Sub-Total: $45.60
    Shipping Fee: $0.00
    Handling Fee: $1.50
    Total: $47.10
    Shipping weight: 1lbs
The Shipping Weight needs to be included since it is required to compute the Shipping Fee chargeable by the shipping firm.

    Thank you for any input.

You could customize an existing Order Totals Module and make that you Handling Fee and then the Free Shipping can run as $0.00 and the Handling would run as your $1.50 ...

I'd probably start with the Low Order Fee ot_loworderfee and clone and customize it for your Handling Fee ...

I found the ot_loworderfee file in the following folders:

    includes\modules\order_total
    includes\languages\english\modules\order_total

To clone them, do I make a copy of each and rename them accordingly (like ot_handlingfee.php) in their respective folders? I don't suppose the override system is applicable here right?

    Thanks heaps.

Cloning modules is similar in that you take the filename:
    ot_loworderfee.php

for both to module code file and the language file and change to:
    ot_something.php

and change all the references to:
    loworderfee to something
    LOWORDERFEE to SOMETHING

then change how the calculations are done to suit your needs ...
