There was an error processing your card, please try again (South African VCS module)

I am using 1.3.7, and have gone through just about all of the posts on the forum. Most of the problems sound similar, but do not fit my situation.

1. the customer purchases and goes through the checkout, step 1 2 & 3 when using a credit card. (South African VCS module)
2. The payment gateway opens, and accepts payment
3. The customer is returned to zen with the following error:There was an error processing your card, please try again
4. the customer is taken back to step 2 of the checkout process
5. payment is received in the account
6. no order or order details appear in the admin

The problem with this is that the customer proceeds to step 3 again and a duplicate payment is processed for the same transaction.

what is wrong with my payment module?
After hours of reading post and threads, I have no been able to identify the possible problem

I had the same problem. Make sure that your PAM id in your module is the same as the one in the VCS admin console.

After changing that, i fixed my problem.
