Default exec() function fails in MySQL Backup Plugin

I just installed the MySQL Backup Plugin. The function shows in the Tools menu. However, it is reporting that the exec() function is disabled.

I contacted the hosting company and they claim it is available; I believe that they did make a change.

I found php.ini file in the domain's root directory and the disabled-functions list is blank.

Is this file in the correct location, or is there another issue that I or the hosting company needs to address?

It reports that the exec() function is disabled if PHP is reporting that exec is listed in the disabled-functions directive. You'll need to determine why PHP is reporting that it's disabled.

Apparently the ISP neglected to set the environment variable to point to the php.ini file within the domain. Once that was done, everything lit up as it should.

    Thanks for your help.
