Default I hate to bother everyone....

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Sue and I am extremely new to this store. I have installed Zen Cart 1.3.8 and am in the process of configuring my store.

I am confused on uploading images. Currently I uploaded a new logo and a couple of images for a subcategory and a product.

    http://www.emeraldspares.com/products

When I am in the admin portion of my store and click on Online Catalog to view my changes....all images appear but when I link on to www.emeraldspares.com/products all the images are broken.

I have searched the forum and verified my images directory. The images are there and they have the correct permissions.

I am just confused on where to look next or if I am uploading them incorrectly. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Sue

    Thanks Sue
Have any of the images got the extension in UPPERCASE ? GIF, JPG, PNG etc ?
Might be worth trying changing them to lowercase...if they are not already...

I don't know what it means, but when I go to view the image directly via the image link (logo: http://emeraldspares.com/products/in...mages/logo.gif) I get this message:

The image “http://emeraldspares.com/products/in...ages/logo.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Hopefully that might help someone who does know how to fix that error help you LOL

The issue is most likely to be problems in the image files themselves - as the images are appearing in one browser, but not in others.

What program are you using to create and save your images?

... and when you FTP the images to your server, are you sending them in BINARY mode?

Well they are gif files. I created them in Photoshop and uploaded them with FTP Software FETCH.

I am on a MAC, don't know if I am doing something incorrectly that way.

Do you think that it may be my image sizes? I have 1 set size that I uploaded. I recreated the files in different sizes and was going to upload those to the medium and large directories.

That still does not explain my logo not showing up though.

GIFs are fine. Fetch should be doing the right thing with image files, but check its preferences to make sure it is set to auto-detect file type. Then re-upload the images and see if that helps.

Well I checked Fetch and it is set to Automatic and when I look at the info of the file it says that it was sent as Binary

Well I went back to Photoshop and made 3 different image sizes. I reuploaded them and then reselected them from Catagory/Products.

2 of the 3 Product images appeared in Safari, IE and Chrome. So I believe I am on the right track.

I still can not get my logo to appear though. Do I need to tell the .php template the image size?

    Sue
