Seting up discount coupons for certain purchase amounts

II am trying to figure out how to set up discount coupons for my customers so if they buy a certain amount of products the automatically get a discount.

I read how to set it up bu going to admin, module, order total, then select discount coupon. but I am stuck on how to set it up I am trying to create something simialr to

$20 Off Orders of $250 or more
$20 OFF ORDERS OF $500 or more
Cut $20 off your next purchase when you make a purchase of $500 or more.
