    Idea or Suggestion Customer not notified of Paypal payment received?

    Hi all,

    Could someone please explain to me why, in the page where I've edited a customers order, at the bottom where I can change the order status, does it have a cross under 'customer notified' when the Paypal status is completed.

    I've had a customer ask why they don't receive an email informing them that payment has been received and the item is being despatched and I think it must be something I've missed in setting up the site?

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Because Paypal status completed most likely means that a sale has been completed and they will receive an order confirmation email from you, and probably an email from Paypal too. So there's no need for a specific email from your site just to confirm that the Paypal status is completed.

    Just to add to what kuroi has said, if you want to send an email to the customer saying the item is being despatched, this is a separate, independent email which you will need to send. This, for obvious reasons, isn't done automatically. You send it from the customer's order page by changing the status to it and making sure the option to notify the customer is selected.

    The red cross you mentioned does seem to alarm a lot of people. This is what DrByte said about it:

    That may change in a future version of Zen Cart, since it seems to confuse some people.
