is Zen Cart for me?

I am creating my first ECommerce site. I've been a frontennd developer for years (xhtml/css/javascript) and i want to make a push to include ECommerce. I already have a layout created. What im looking for is a shop carting with an admin tool to insert products into a product template. Zen Cart default template really doesn't match up with my layout so imagine it would be difficult to over ride? I have a decent understanding of procedural programming in PHP. Am I in over my head? Should I choose a less robust cart?

It isn't difficult to create a Zencart template to match whatever you have now.

I'd guess Zencart will do what you want - don't overthink it before the fact. I know almost no PHP, and have no problem with styling and configuring Zencart.
