Making multiple copies of similar product(s)

I have a question that I need some assistance with.
I create a product, and then have to copy that product numerous times to create the other products that I sell in different counts.
Since I am a seedman, I sell - seeds; and then edit them to change the quantity of the seed in each item (As well as price, SKU, etc.)
Is there a add in that will allow me to make numerous copies at the same time to cut down on the repetitive task of copying each on numerous times?
I know that I will have to edit each one individually, but being able to copy the item 4, 8 or 12 times will be very helpful.

There is nothing for doing what you want that has been contributed by a 3rd party developer and I suspect that the development cost would put you back to deciding to do it manually

The most practical way is to do this in a spreadsheet (MS Excel or the OpenOffice equivalent).

Using the many functions available in spreadsheet software, makes the task much faster.

The structure of your spreadsheet is important, because you will load this data into your webshop using Easy Populate (EP).

EP can be fetched from HERE and you will need to download the 1.2.5.4 version.

I do have EP installed, however, I am running into a configuration issue. (I am new to the back end of an e-commerce business).
I get the following error:
1366 Incorrect integer value: '' for column 'configuration_group_id' at row 1
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration_group VALUES ('', 'Easy Populate', 'Config options for Easy Populate', '1', '1')]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Once I get that fixed, then I should be able to generate all of the listing that I need in a much faster manner.

What VERSION of EP is installed? For Zencart Ver 1.3.8 you need EP 1.2.5.4

If yiou have the correct version... then

This error is possibly related to EasyPopulate not having had the database patch run automatically.

Backup your database first.

Then...

In the EP program folders you'll see a file called install.sql .

Open this file in a plain text editor and highlight+COPY the text. Make sure you copy all of it, down to (and including) the final ;

Then, in admin>>>tools>>>install sql patches, PASTE the sql text.

Run the query.
