My shop will yield search results for any search term no matter if it is only one character ex: "a" , is it a good idea to leave it as is? or should a minimum be set? since I can't find this setting in the admin nor any posts maybe this is not such a good idea?

Personally speaking, another site I use has this feature enabled (min search of 4 characters) and its a pain in the ar$e. Its a motorbike site and it means you cant search for motorcycle models such as YZ 250 as the term is too short!
