Default Missing order details -- Authorize.net

    BS”D

    I am using Authorize.net (AIM).

The customer completes the purchase and we both get an email confirmation from Authorize.net but the order does not show up in ZenCart. I have no way to tell what attributes the customer chose or their shipping method. Since the order doesn’t show in ZenCart, the next customer who orders gets the same order/invoice number. How can I fix this?

Can you please provide more details ...

    1. a)Click the "Reply" button below, and answer all the questions listed on the next screen.
    b) Please be very detailed in the exact symptoms that occur as the checkout completes ... do you see the order confirmation screen? Do you get a blank screen somewhere?
    2. Turn on debug logging in your AIM module and post the logs it generates after placing an order.
    3. Install the debug logging util from step 2a of this FAQ article, and post the errors it logs after placing an order: http://tutorials.zen-cart.com/index.php?article=82

I am using Authorize.net (AIM) and Version Zen Cart 1.3.7.1

I read about the problem with quotes and apostrophes causing the problem with an order going to Authorize.net but then does not show up in ZenCart. Some of out product names have apostrophes. I did a test and was able to duplicate the problem. When I hit confirm I got a white screen with this code:

There's an updated module for your old version of Zen Cart:

It works but I get this Error message:
WARNING: Security hash problem. Please contact store-owner immediately. Your order has *not* been fully authorized.

When I set the MD5 hash 'phrase' in your Authorize.net merchant account settings can I use any phrase?

Where do I enter that same phrase in your Zen Cart AIM module settings? I do not see a field for it in the Admin>Modules>Payment Modules>Authorize.net (AIM)

In the ZenCart Admin>Modules>Payment Modules I uninstalled Authorize.net (AIM) and then re-installed it. The proper fields (including MD5 Hash) showed up and I re-populated the fields with the settings I had saved from before.

I chose to leave the MD5 Hash filed blank here and in my Authorize.net settings at least for now. Is it really better to put in a phrase?

Now it works fine without any error messages.

The only differences I noticed is that, with the email notifications of the transactions from Authorize.net, it now adds a hyphen and 6 random characters at the end of the Invoice Number. Does this matter?

Also, with the new module there is nolonger the option to Store the Credit Card Number.

Thanks for your help Dr. Byte! This has cleared up a problem that has been bugging us for months.

    Regards,
    Mordechai

You don't need to set a hash in the AIM module. The hash is mostly for backward compatibility for the less-reliable SIM module. It's fine to leave it blank.

The added letters at the end of the order number are an added feature to keep order numbers unique on the authnet end in the rare event that a duplicate order "number" (digits only) gets submitted due to 2 people clicking to confirm their order at the same time.

As for storing CC number, none of the modules will do that now, for security reasons.

    hi.
i'm using 1.3.7.1 and getting the same 1064 error mentioned above. i don't really understand from this thread what's causing the error. is it something in the description of the products? do i just need to reinstall the authorize.net mod. i'm just getting the error but not the issue with the order not going through.

If the error message is identical, then the solution is the same.

I'm not asking what the solution is. I'm asking what is the cause of this error.
