Trouble with new define pages

Hey all,

I've been searching for an answer to this problem for a while. I'm trying to customize the three define pages, Page_2, Page_3, and Page_4.

I followed the instructions in the PDF found in this thread:

Instead of creating new define pages, I simply edited the information for the pages, changing filenames and the code, using the Developer's Tool Kit to find instances of PAGE_2, PAGE_3, etc... One example -- I edited /includes/filenames.php:

Here's the problem. When I click a link to my page, I see the page title, a back button, but no content:

I can see these pages, and the content of these pages in the define pages editor, but for the life of me, I can't get the content to appear on the website. Any ideas? I'll be happy to provide more information if needed

I've run the PHP error reporting tool, but ZenCart isn't throwing errors... I'm kicking myself for not going ahead and making new pages from scratch. :-(

Try moving a copy of them up a level from your includes/languages/english/htm_includes/your_template to
includes/languages/english/htm_includes. Zen Cart doesn't know to find them if they're not also in the default place.

Edit: Maybe I should ask first if you made a template override folder there.

Yep, I've got a copy there, in an override folder. Still nothing...

Is this a SQL issue? Do I also have to change the database in addition to the changes above?

No..don't think you have to do anything with the database.
You might download the About Us contribution, and compare to
make sure you have your files in all the places in the /includes structure that they need to be.

TShooters, I ask about the database because page_2, page_3, and page_4 were initially disabled in the 'Define Pages Status" page - they were set to "3".

Here's the weird part. In 'Define Pages Status', the original page names are still shown: page_2, page_3, and page_4. The changes I've tried making are not visible.

Interesting thing is - when I try disabling a page by setting it to "3", the modified page, say: "getting_started" is not changed or affected.

I'm wondering if there is a disconnect between the admin and these modified pages. Maybe I can't turn them on through the admin, I have to do it in the DB?

Your suggestion about the "About Us" mod, I initially used this to track down and modify the page_2, page_3, etc files. Afterwards I checked the PDF above to see if it mentioned files not found in the mod, but I seemed to hit them all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hooookay...try the suggestion in post # 7 here, and change
Page_2, 3, 4 to your pages' names in includes/languages/your template/english.php.

Don't think that will change anything in admin/config/define page status, though.
