Adding Mass Attributes

I have many products that use the same attributes. Is it possible to add attributes to every one of my products at the same time. It so slow going having to put the same things for all 20-30 of my products. I really hope there is a way to do this.

In your admin panel go to: Catalog - Option Name Manager
scroll to Add ALL Option Values to ALL products for Option Name section and take it from there.

When I go there and select the option name and click update an error says "No products found, nothing was updated." It also says: Warning:Always make proper backups of your changes before making global changes. Do you know what this is?
