Changing some important features on my site

I would like to change some important features on my site:

1. On my website in the top right hand corner where it says checkout I would like it to show how many items it has in it and the total cost.

2. I would like to add as many languages to my website.

This is basically a matter of translating mostly the english.php variables there are some in the downloads area....
BUT more importantly, you have to enter your product descriptions in each language....

I went to this link the problem is that it is a version 1.3.7 and my is v1.3.8a will this cause a problem if I use it.

Usually, as all files are not changed between versions BUT check if there is a support thread on this forum for it....these are all 3rd party and you ahould maintain a log of the changes you make

Far too broad!!!

Above using the admin > tools > layout boxes controller and the default side boxes

Have a tour through the free software addons link at the top of this page and select sideboxes

Many are specific for an intended purpose and there is the "Blank" sidebox that one can tailor to other needs
