Can I restrict Discount Coupons if Group Discount used?

I want to know if I can restrict the usage of a discount coupon if a group discount applies?

Even a better solution, if 2 discounts apply, select the discount with the greatest value.

I have a website. Loyalty Customers may have a group discount of 10%. I may issue a discount coupon for 5% to attract new users. Loyalty customer can now use the discount 5% and get 15% total discount (almost, due to second discount taken from the discounted subtotal).

Any suggestions?

Swamyg1, I never did. I think that you would have to write custom code, so I restricted the use of the discount group and opted more for discount coupons.
