Zen Auction 1.3.8 - Problem with Buy Now

Just tried installing this mod (Zen Auction update 1.3.8) on a 1.3.8a cart. Everything seems to work except one BIG problem. If you go to the New Items listing (or if you added the auction item to the Featured list), it will show the auction item with the highest bid (last bid) amount as the price.

Fine except that I have the Buy Now buttons enabled for the product listings (New and Featured). Thus, if someone clicks on the Buy Now button in the New Product listing, it adds the auction item to the shopping cart at the current bid price, which is well below the reserve price and the auction is not closed.

It looks like someone can complete the purchase for the auction item at the latest bid price this way. That wouldn't be good!

Is there something I do not have set correctly? It seems to work in all other respects. I did the following after install:

1. Added a category called Auctions.

2. Moved an existing item into that category.

3. Used the Tools/Convert Type to change the item to an auction item

4. Went in and modified the start date, price, reserve, etc.

As I said, it all seems to operate okay except the ability of anyone to simply add the item to their cart at the current bid price from the listing pages. I tried a search to see if there was anything on this, but did not find anything. The contribution shows that it was updated just last fall, so hopefully someone can come to my rescue on this.

Another issue I found -- if a logged-in customer clicks on the Buy It Now button in the product description (the one for the auction, not the one in the lists) and the item goes into the cart, if the customer decides not to buy the item, the last bid price is now set to the Buy Now price. If anyone else should want to bid, the bid price is no longer correct. Seems somehow that if the person decides to abandon their shopping cart or empty their cart, that the current bid price should remain where it was.

No. Never heard anything. Had wanted to use it, but serious issues that I am not qualified to fix.
