country in zone module but not reconised in orders

OK this one has me stumped.

I have a zone shipment module that generally works fine. There are several zones so that a table of rates for
different areas of Europe can be set. I have 3 zones and a list of countries in each zone by their respective
two letter ISO codes.

For some reason one particular country (Slovakia) is not being recognised even though it is clearly visible
in the shipping module.

At checkout you just get the message "this is the only shipping method available to use on this order" but no
shipping amount and the cart will not advance any further.

I tried adding the country again to make sure the country name in the pull-down menu was correspondng with
the ISO code. but the result is the same.

There's not much to tell though, settings are:
enable - true (obviously)
calc method - weight
tax class - none
tax basis -shipping
sort order 0

Then I have three zones, there is nothing to differentiate the way Slovakia is entered via the two letter
ISO code vs any other country.

My understanding is that the zones can have up to 250 character and in this case the SK code is falling at number 116/117 so should not
be beyond the amount of ecognised characters.

The part I wanted to know about are the definitions of all the Zones so we could perhaps discover a typo ...

The first thing I checked was if it was present and if there was any typo or syntax error. I even deleted it and entered it again just to be sure. Then to be sure the
ISO code matched the country I re-entered the country with ISO code.

No problem, here they are. I tried moving SK to the very front of the list but it makes no difference.

I add all of your settings to my Zone Rate and it appears to work ...

Have you an URL where we could perhaps go and break things and could you tell us the products_id that you are testing?

Thanks for your input on this. I am in Australia at the moment working on other things so hence the belated reply.

What I tried was this; I added a new country using the ISO code ZZ and lo and behold it works fine, so I renamed
it 'Slovakia' and it has no problem with this. So it would seem the issue is with the actual code SK. Is it possible
that if two countries have the same two letter code it confuses the shipping module? Right now the only way I know
to check this would be to scroll through all the zillion countries looking for another SK.

In any case, just using different letters seems like a crude but functional workaround (and we don't get too many
customers from Slovakia so it is not urgent).

I am really not sure of the issues with your countries and the ISO code ...

SK is working fine for Zone Rate, USPS, UPS etc. etc.

I would have to think there is something in your database tables or perhaps something in the code blocking this ...

Without seeing your database tables and your code on the site I really cannot put a finger on this ...
