new products are gone please help

i´m sure it´s something really simple but obviously i´m too blind to find it and i would really appreciate if you could point me into the right direction:

my "what´s new for february" list is just one piece... what did i do? where is the setting to change the number of products displayed?

That sets the number of products showing in the new product centerbox, what value do you have in there?

thanks for your quick answer - i checked the field and the number there is "9" - so shouldn´t there be 9 products?
what else can be wrong? i´m sure i changed a setting and then it appeared... (

Yep, should be 9 there if it's set to that...do you remember what you might have changed before you noticed it...added a mod or maybe a template change?

mmm good question. i tried to change the sort order of the categories - i wanted an order from new to old.
the problem was that the things were suggested here didn´t work first and also didn´t change anything... so i just didn´t change them back
i´m sure it´s in the admin... but i checked and searched and looked over and...
