In Stock Image

I have a client that would like a generic image showing instead of the quantity in stock.

In his niche, his competitors (I don't really like that word) often have products showing that are actually out of stock. So his customers are often times unsure that a particular item is available. They have not yet been trained in the powers of the Zen Cart "Sold Out" image.

So is there a way to substitute an image for the stock quantity. I am not able to figure it out.

You can replace the text definition of the qty in stock with an image url. You would also need to comment out a bit of code to eliminate the actual number display.

In Tools > Developers Toolkit, paste a bit of the text, like "in stock", in the lower left box, select all files and search. Among the results will be the language file and line number where that bit of text is defined. Edit that file and replace the text with image code. The zen_image() function will give the most robust results - look around for examples of its use.
