    Default Customers can't create new account after upgrade to 1.3.8a

    I've searched and searched for the cause to my problem to no avail.

    I recently upgraded from 1.3.6 to 1.3.8a. Got past a few errors in the process, but have most of the site working properly now.

    But now new customers can't create an account because the "submit" button is missing. I have a single, vertical login page (not the split page), and for some reason all the content at and below the referral question seems to disappear.

    I'm pretty sure it has to do with my custom template, as I can switch back to the default template and it works properly. But I can't seem to isolate what is causing the problem.

    Is it found in the login module? I've already made some edits to that file, and I think it is complete compared to the new install version of that file.

    My site is elisalou.com. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer.

    Replace your template files with core files from 1.3.8a one at a time... Scrap that

    Look at the changelog included with the distribution...you probably have several files associated with your template(overrides) that require merging to the latest versions

    This is a "blank page" issue. Notice how it's not just the submit button that's missing, but everything that should come after it, such as your footer.

    This happens when there is a PHP syntax error. PHP simply falls over. If you install the Zen Cart Debug add-in (there's a FAQ Entry about it), it will mostly trap the error message, telling you which file and which line within the file you need to address.

    Thanks for the tips. Kuroi, I followed your advice and quickly found exactly the problem was. Looks like I had an old file in there somehow (or after mucking around with the code to try to get it working, I forgot to remove my work).

    Issue is now resolved.

    When attempting to create a new customer account, I get an error pop-up stating:

    Please make the following corrections:

    I'm getting a blind error. All of the required fields have been filled.

    The store is new...was originally 1.3.0.2 when installed through my previous web host. I switched to a Zen Cart web host and had them upgrade to latest 1.3.8 for me. This is my first time testing registration etal.

    I deeply appreciate any and all help in solving this problem, as the person I'm building this store for is anxious to be operational.

    Well, I just solved my own problem. I turned "Company Name" field to false in Admin (removed it) and I was able to complete process. I guess when it is activated, it is a "required" field, even though it shouldn't be.

    Hope this helps anyone having the same problem, and is something that Zen Cart pro's who have created this wonderful cart will look into solving for the next release. I'm just a graphic designer and bow to your expertise.

    The other choice was to set the Minimum Value on the field to 0 ...

    The test for this was not working in a previous version, so when it was fixed, the results were that you needed to fill in the company field or change the minimum value, if you wanted to keep that field available ...
