Currency Changing With Country

I'm just seeking a method to tie the customer's country to a currency.

I am due to put together a no frills trade website where every customer must have an approved account (as an existing trade customer for a gift company)... so every buying customer will have a defined country.

If anyone has any ideas then do shout...


p.s. I haven't touched shopping carts for 5 years... last time I used zencart and was happy with it but this issue is of paramount importance for this project so guess I might switch to another cart if there is one already out there with this functionality. I do like zencart though... :/

eCommerce software doesn't work like that. It works on Languages and not on the Country.

So for the English language you can either have the default currency set to USD or to GBP, but not to both.

It's also a matter of international standards and agreements on coding, so it's not a matter of which cart you choose - they all operate in the same way. For the English language the text definition is 'en'.

You could set up two languages for 'English', one using the text defintion 'en_usa' and the other using 'en_uk', but no browser or keyboard would recognise those definitions for the English language. You could, in Zen Cart, set one of those two to be the default Currency for the English language, but then you're back where you started - only being able to have one default currency for one language.

So, to put it plainly, what you want to do cannot be done.
