How difficult is it to sync Zen Cart to QuickBooks POS System?

I am a newbie in every sense of the term, but I am educating myself quickly, yet the next major issue I am presented with, is that I MUST have a webstore that syncs sales, inventory, everything, with my bricks and mortar Point of Sale system. I sell clothing and sporting equipment. Much of which are one-offs. So, I must be able to change online availablity imediately and automatically so as to minimize the chance of selling one product to two different folks.

I really like the Quickbooks POS system, but I hate their "Storefront" webstores. Very tech limited, unprofessional looking, costly for what you receive... But the POS system itself is easy to use, easy to post product to the web and other online shopping forums (ebay, yahoo shopping,...) and it will save me a great deal of time in various book-keeping activities.

I am not dead set on Quickbooks POS, I just want a POS that does everything a POS should do, and fully integrate with my future webstore with very high reliability.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Im also having a problem...concern I have is that QuickBooks POS has an item number for each item size, style, or color, whereas Zen Cart only has a single item number for one specific item and you can assign several attributes to the item. This makes it really difficult to sync between QuickBooks and Zen Cart.

Is there is a solution in Zen Cart so that the item numbers match when I perform a sync, as eCC program syncs based on Model/Item Numbers.

I have a store online and physical.

Zencart doesn't support separate model numbers for attributes now, but the good news is that the new 2.0 version will.

No one really knows and they don't like it when you ask.

I have yet to find a true automated link between Zencart and Quickbooks POS all the ones in the DL area are for Quickbooks.
