    Default Database Problems

We seem to have a problem with our database, zencart version is 1.3.7.

New customers are fine, but older customers who place orders login, but products, check out as normal, but when we get the order, customers who should pay vat, do not, their order is zero rated, as if they are outside of the EU. When you check the customers>customers detail in admin, the fields are all blank for these customers, and the default country is showing Aaland Island, the customer details for number of orders etc is also missing, so we have no history to view about previous orders

does any one have any idea's how we can sort this out

    thanks

    Andy

Sounds like something has been damaged with old customer data, such as an incomplete (ie: skipped important pieces) manual import of data from one database to another, etc.

Solution: recover the specific damaged records from an old database backup. Be careful not to delete "new" records while repairing old records. This is not a simple task, and involves multiple tables, multiple datasets, and careful analysis of all records, old and new. I recommend engaging the services of a professional who understands databases and has experience resolving corrupted data problems.

Customer/Address data is comprised of 3 tables: customers, customers_info, address_book. Add group_pricing to the list if you're using that feature.
