Paypal subscription orders

Has anyone implemented Paypal's subscription feature, where customers can choose a subscription plan and Paypal will bill them and generate their orders? I've gotten to the point of setting up a subscription plan in Paypal but now I need to add the relevant code to the website. Before I spend hours fiddling with it, I thought I'd ask if anyone else has already done it.

For that to work one would need to build a listener to respond when PayPal notifies the store that a repeat-order has been placed, and then manually build that complete order and simulate payment and trigger all the notification emails.
That's not built-in at this time.
It gets ultra complicated when trying to reverse-engineer the specifics of the indicated order, especially if your store has changed its products in the meantime. Also complicated if you've changed prices as well.
Lots of things to take into account.

There have been some ad hoc mods that attempted it but with varying degrees of success.
