FYI "better" tell a friend / share this page option

hey all! i found this option this morning, and it seems to be... well... idiot proof! thought id share with everyone in case someone else wants to use it.

it is a free program called "Share This". Check out the site here: sharethis.com

Basically, you can put this little snippet of code anywhere you want (im even using it in the product description)

its faster than "tell a friend" and it doesnt take that person off the product page, its just a little iframe that pops up. you can share thru basically ANYTHING, email, rss, facebook, twitter etcetcetcetc...

I'm thinking about adding one of those.. Here is what I've found: addthis.com. Is anybody using sth similar?

i just put 1 up on 1 page, and my site is "live" but not accessible unless you know where to go... you can try it here:

not 100% sure its working at the moment, but it does work in theory.
i would love your feedback as to whether it sends information correctly to you!

also, it is SO easy to do, you can always just throw one up on one of your items and give it a try... there isnt any addons, modules, or whatever to deal with, just a little snippet of code that you can easily delete if you dont like it.

I like the look of the Addthis.com button more, and it pops up dynamically instead of having to click on it.

If you paste the code into includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php you can have the code automatically added to all of your products. I put it just below the additional images and put it in a centered div and I think it looks great.

I've been using Add This on my sites. It works great. The only downside is that you have to create a different account for each site you wish to use the tracking feature.
