Help With Google Checkout Installation Instructions

Hello

I installed Google Checkout on my site without problem a year or so ago

I am now updating for a friend and wanted to install GC on that

The problem I have is that on my mac, the installation instructions aren't actually readable - they come up as a black box saying terminal and lots of errors, so I can't actually read the instructions to install it

I was using a PC before when I happily downloaded the instructions and followed them to the letter

Can anyone help
