Why this categories list happen to my site?

I am very strange that my categories list in a strange way.

The pictures don't align to left in some column.

In other category, this will not happen.

I have fixed it by adding an xhtml entry in the file:

<div style="clear:both;"></div>

I don't know exactly the reason, but I fix it. So I hope it will work all right.
