I was wondering if there is a way to be in showcase mode but still give people the option to login/register?
The site is a showcase but I want folks to register to get access to some product information.

Looks like some other folks posted this question without much luck.
Would commenting out the php for cart and cart related items cause any problems?
I'm open to any suggestions, as long as their legal ...
I too want to know how to do this! I have a store in showcase mode, but, i have a problem, because the login / register links disappear. Yet, I still want to run a newsletter, and have customers post reviews etc. I suspect it should be easy enough to have a link on the home page that points to "./index.php?main_page=login".... but, i want the link to appear properly as a menu item, or even better at the top of my website next to the "home" link.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Just to echo - I also need this.
I need to switch off the shop for a very short amount of time as I'm not going to have the ability to process orders. Rather than switching it off entirely, I thought the showcase is ideal as it keeps the presence alive. But I would still like customers to be able to log into their profiles.
What would be the effect of commenting out the login section?
have you checked
configuration > Customer details
Customer Shop Status ???
Can you believe it's the only thing I didn't try!!!
That's perfectly simple. Thanks.
