I want to run several shops. Is there any way other than signing up for a separate hosting account to get a different ip address for each? I know its one ssl cert per address, and one ssl cert per ip. so is there any way I can run more than one shop without paying $10-$15 per month to host each? They would all be low traffic so it seem overkill. thank you

Better to ask your host. I have a reseller account with my host, which allows me to add as many domains as I have disk space (and bandwidth) for, and can have a dedicated IP for each. The account I have costs me $35.00 a month.

I have been using “Add On Domains” as offered without charges by my Host Provider (Lunarpages) for all ZC development and testing works. You are allowed an unlimited number of Add On Domains on your Main Account. You have to cover the cost of each new domain registration.

Here is a more formal definition of Add on domain:
An add on domain allows you to run a separate site complete with email capability from your main account. Add on domains will be redirected to a subdirectory of your primary domain's root directory. An add on domain will appear to visitors as a totally separate site with its own domain.

This capability may vary from one Host Provider to another. You current Provider may offer a similar capability under a different name.

Similar to a hosting account, I have a vps. The same benefits as a hosting account but there is no one else on my server, so to speak.

It's an option that you might consider.
