Default Is this possible - changing center column width?

I have searched everywhere but haven't come up with an answer so I am not sure this is possible.

I would like to have the width of my center column change dynamically based on the browser / resolution the computer is running or possibly a way to change dynamically if there is a way to check for monitor width.

For example, the monitor on my laptop is a 17inch so I would like the width of my center column to reflect that and be wider when viewing on my laptop. Then when I view my website on a machine that has a 12 inch monitor, for example, the width would naturally be more narrow.

Is this possible and if so, how?

    Thanks,

    Pam

First, install FIREFOX on your system and then install the add-on called Web Developer >> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60 ... Also find and install FIREBUG addon ... another great tool.

The change should be easy and is located in your templates Stylesheet.css file ... you can experiment by changing the width to 100% (or 95%, etc. if you want) in the stylesheet.css file.

    \includes\templates\TEMPLATE_NAME\css\stylesheet.css

Change all occurrences of 850px (orwhatever it is now) to 100%.

    Good luck

setting mainwrapper to 100% does what you want, but consider what your site may look like on 24" monitors too. Very wide and unnatural.

You should consider a set width around 950px; which is best for all monitor sizes.

thanks for this info. I am out of town all week so I won't have a chance to test it out until the weekend.
