Default Going Live with my store...need a bit of help please.

    Hi All,

After much work and periodic swearing...I'm ready to go live with my store!

I have been building my store in a sub-directory of my domain, ie:

    http://www.mydomain.com/NewTest/

in order to test format and everything else.

I'd like to move the site so when someone punches in "www.mydomain.com" they come to the main page of my store.

Do I just take the contents of the "NewTest" folder and put it in the htdocs folder?

or is there more to it than that?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jane

You're half way there with it - you need to change both the includes/configure.php and the admin/includes/configure.php to reflect the change after you move everthing to your root. That will do it!

Thanks Marg and Steven300 for the advice.

Steven300 I went to the FAQ/Tutorial you advised.

    Quick question on the tutorial:

Step 2 of the instructions says:

Go into Admin > Configuration > Sessions and change the Session Directory to reflect the new folder name.

Just to make sure I understand the instructions correctly...

    In the following,
    .../htdocs/NewTest/cache

Would I just delete "NewTest/" or "NewTest/cache" so it will be seen at www.mydomain.com?

Then make said changes to the two "configure.php" files.

    Thanks,
    Jane

I believe you would change it to ".../htdocs/cache".

I too am moving my site to a new folder. I (think) I have followed all the steps as above but when I type in my web address I get the "Thankyou for loading Zencart" page. It has taken me back to the set up.

I must have missed something but I don't know where.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mostly likely you missed step 1 or you didn't change the config files properly. I had the same error and tired again and it worked.
