Offline payment processing

Hi all,
Just installed 1.38, clean install at the moment.
I want to accept two payment types, one of which is sorted and happy (paypal), but the other I am struggling to either configure or find.
I have a credit card machine here, and I want the customer to be able to purchase an item, then in the cart specify a number for us to call them on and take the payment over the phone, therefore negating the the need to have SSL etc.

Am I missing something obvious here, or am I going to have to start customising the hell out of the cheque payment module thats built in?

One thing you're missing is that many people (including customers) consider SSL necessary any time you're accepting personal info, like when they create an account. SSL certs aren't that expensive.

The built-in offline CC module sends you part of the number and deposits the rest in the database. Insecure, in my opinion, but it should let you do what you want. If you really want them to phone, you'll have to modify one of the existing modules, like COD.

Thought so..... Thanks Steve. The expense of the SSL cert isnt the issue, the issue is the server that it is on, I am swiftly running out of IP addresses, and this is a very minor project....
