    Default Giving Estimates/Quotes with ZenCart?

First let me say I am a super noob, but I am willing and capable of following directions:

The website our company is building will need a way to add services to a "cart" and then allow the customer to "checkout" without paying anything. Basically we want it to give them an estimate, and submit the "order" to us with their info, but not collect any funds or take their CC #.

That way, when the service is complete they can pay via an e-mail invoice or something similar.

Hopefully I am making sense. So my question is, can I configure a ZenCart to do something like this? Can I configure it to not collect any funds?

I want this to be as easy as possible, but I understand that the shopping carts are designed to collect funds at the end of the sale.

Please, any information will be greatly appreciated!

I would customize the COD payment module to accomplish something like that.

Is this something relatively easy? Or do I need a ton of experience?

Should be pretty easy. Mostly you'll just be changing the names of things in the define files.

Install Zencart, then get aquainted with Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit. You can use that to find the files where the various terms are defined.

If you customers are likely to be repeat business, you might check this:

Steve's right... A couple of years ago I "cloned" check/moneyorder module to make an "account holder" module.

When I asked for advice on cloning payment modules, Ajeh indicated that cloning the COD module would affect cart functionality, so if you go Steve's route, you will have to ADAPT the existing COD module - and I think that would largely be just a case of editing the language DEFINES associated with the module, so that an appropriate label and explanatory text appears for customers.

... but yes... modifying COD module is an option.

... alternative is to clone check/moneyorder to achieve the same as the above.

    PM me if necessary...

I think you hit the nose with this. I have it installed and it seems to be working just fine.

Can I make it to where each customer that registers a new account is added to that "Invoice" group? Every customer we have will be invoiced so, that would be awesome if we didn't have to add them to that group each time.
