Approach to Installation - Linux or Windows for test server?
A good day to one and all,
I have a question and I am looking for suggestions on setting my system up here. Now I have all the downloads needed excepting one possibly but I am going to describe my situation and let me hear your opinions. I use Godaddy to host my websites and I found thru them that ZenCart is only supported thru their Linux side servers. Now i purchased my ZenCart book and its basing the installation on Windows based systems. So my question(s) here are if I am going to be setting up on a Linux host would I not be better setting up my local test bed based on a linux server? Also is it much more difficult to do? And lastly if you do recommend a Linux server what flavor would you recommend? The last linux server i built was Red Hat and its been a couple years now but I still think I remember the steps to setting it up. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated Thanks all.

While they seem cheap - you must not be serious about operating your shop if you selet them as a host....search this site for their issues...talk to others that have been with them

Follow the book, as this is only a development platform to get your site looking as you want
