Unlimited Stock and How to Properly Set Up Digital Goods with Downloads?

I've looked up the FAQs for stock and quantity, I understand now that stock is how much an item is available and quantity is how much is purchased at one time.. Well I put 1,1,1 for the "QTY" settings so people purchase a minimum of one, a maximum of one and "Product Qty Min/Unit Mix:" was already one and I don't know what mix does...

I've changed some settings under stock, not really knowing what I'm doing but nothing has changed on any of the settings.

I changed the Product Quantity to 99999 and the "Out of Stock" message went away but it still displayed the messaged and it wasn't even numerals - it says "1e+07 Units in Stock".

How to I make it unlimited stock by default? My entire store is digital goods so there's not a limit to anything being sold.

Brings me to my next question, How do I set up downloads for products because there's no area for a downloads section on the actual products page that I can see.

I've tried several stores so far including zencart before but all these terms and options have confused me so much that I have given up but I really need a store up to deal with license payment for my products so it's urgent. Any help is greatly appreciated, any links that can help me understand how to modify the settings or something to convert it to digital goods, anything thank you.

There are a few settings in admin > config > stock - - that will allow you to sell with out worrying about stock and are fairly self explanatory.

If you want to remove the display of stock:
Admin > catalog > product type > general > at right "edit layout" > Show Quantity in Stock > set to "0"

Thanks got the stock stuff taken care of but can't really play with downloads since it doesn't make any sense quite yet. Got the variables and object names and file names and stuff inserted into the product, Now it displays a radio button on my product page saying it's a Zip File so I don't know where those display settings are..

Also is there any way to test purchase/download files? I've tried some things but nothings working.. I enabled some paypal express sandbox mode but it didn't work so I suppose that's something else.

My forum search results aren't coming back with relative information like "test download file" or something.

You can test your download setup by enabling the check/money order payment module
