    Default Sudden Fast CGI Errors

OK, I haven't changed anything major on our site lately, but our hosts must have changed something because we are suddenly getting FCGI errors. I don't think our hosts used to run Fast CGI.

    Errors:
Sometimes pages don't load, saying "A timeout occurred while waiting for the script output" and with "FCGI Error" in the title.

    Error logs (very full):
    Code:
[Tue Jun 9 08:01:24 2009] [warn] [client 127.0.0.1] FastCGI: scheduled the restart of the last (dynamic) server "/home/httpd/cgi-bin/php-fcgi-starter.fcgi" process: reached dynamicMaxClassProcs (10)
[Tue Jun 9 08:04:02 2009] [error] [client ] FastCGI: comm with (dynamic) server "/home/httpd/cgi-bin/php-fcgi-starter.fcgi" aborted: (first read) idle timeout (60 sec)
[Tue Jun 9 08:04:02 2009] [error] [client ] FastCGI: incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server "/home/httpd/cgi-bin/php-fcgi-starter.fcgi"
My hosts are looking into this, but I'd like to understand what's going on anyways. Anyone got ideas?

This is in their server configuration for php as cgi - - they should be able to determine their issue

    Hi Kobra

Thanks so much for your response!

Any ideas what my hosts should be looking at in the configuration files?

They've been very helpful, but they say that they've tested the configuration quite thoroughly and rolled it out across all sites, but only a few are reporting problems (admittedly, if I wasn't watching the site carefully, I wouldn't have noticed because it's not a very visible problem).

They're playing with ownership issues, but it doesn't seem to have solved the problem.

    reached dynamicMaxClassProcs (10)
That's the cause of the problem. They haven't allocated enough resources to PHP.
