When using that module, the system accepts the order in "pending" status, waiting for the customer to mail the payment to the storeowner.
It's up to the storeowner to wait for the payment before shipping the goods.
If you simply enable that module and do a test transaction, it should complete normally, saving a pending order in your orders list. You should receive an email from your store confirming the details of the order placed.
The reason I'm suggesting that you do this is to prove whether or not the email successfully arrives when the very uncomplicated check/moneyorder module is used. If it is not, and if perhaps an error occurs, then maybe all your other problems are related to the same error or some facet of it.
Once you do the test, click "Remove" on that module so that customers don't try to use it for real orders.

Okay I enabled the the check/ money order module, did a test purchase. The test user got the email. I, my store, did not get an email. I can view the order in Admin though!
Anyone have a clue on what might be the problem?
