File Uploader capability?

Hi All,

I am totally beginner with Zen Cart
I want to design a page in my store such that user can upload (text file) specific file from his/her local machine and that will be stored on the hosting server.
Is this possible to do with zen cart? and if yes then how should I manage files
uploaded by individual user separately

this is really a general question and if you need specific info please let me know

Yes ZenCart has this capability and usually for uploaded images but any file type can be supported....
ZenCart assigns a unique name to each upload to prevent duplicates from different customers and the linkage is in the order for the customer where the ZenCart file name is listed and the file name that the customer used is also listed

Now I have following concern...

Once customer uploads the file that file should be transfered to specific machine
(with static IP address but not a web server) where the file would be converted into
image and then this image will be uploaded again on web server ( in customers account).

Does Zen Cart provide any way to accomplish this..?
Please do not agitate if this sounds ridiculous because I am exploring various options to achieve this and I prefer Open Source solutions if any available.

ZenCart supports the "Main Stream" things that the many want.
What you are describing is particular to your use and there is no direct support for this.
One could manually move these files around???
If a programatic solution is desired then a custom program to do this would be required and as it is mostly off of ZenCart and on another machine/program one would need to be adept at both.

It is possible though from what you have described

Added through attributes > options name manager > create as "file"
add to a product and a "Browse" selection is presented
