Sounds like you had likely put files in the wrong folders, and maybe haven't actually removed them all because they weren't in the place expected.
So ... compare all the files on your server against the backup you have on your PC, by downloading everything via FTP, and comparing using WinMerge. Look for files you might have put in the wrong place.
Also look for files that a hacker might have added to your site unbeknownst to you, and remove them.

I had the admin configure file in the regular configure file!!

Now I am not going to touch zen again and will have someone else install the patch!
I do not have any configure.php file
I only have dist-configure.php file
Version: zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007
I performed the changed in dist-configure.php file and reuploaded...
Still does not work...
I've posted in other thread, not sure which one is appropriate, but I have spent most of my day reverting and following instructions, over and over...
I just re-downloaded the software, and started over....
The configure.php file now exists... Must of had a corrupt download/upload the 1st time...
Sorry for the multiple post, I had several tabs open and was not sure which one was the appropriate one...
