Problems after installing security patch 06 19 2009

I uploaded the new files via my FTP software.

Tried to change the admin name and it did not work.

Again I need some help as Im not doing something right.

I changed back as I need access to my admin page.

Can anyone help me with this.

after renaming your admin folder. you need to reflect that change in your configure.php file . located in admin / includes /

in configure.php file , change any entry that contains the old admin name to new admin name .

Had 1 rouge php file in images. Have not found any other changes as listed by Smoke_007

Still unable to apply changes to catagories and boxes layout.
Any more ideas?

Well it seems that I've wasted an entire day on this problem. Finally I got fed up with reading and removed just the 4 security_patch_v138_20090619 files (not the html_output.php file) and 'Hey Presto!' all is good with the world.
I am able to create new catagories and make changes to box layout.
Installed 4 security pack files again and all works well.
Must have been Gremlins.

Where do I change the admin folder in the first place?

I changed everything in admin/includes/configure.php and had no success.

Simple:
1. Use your FTP program to rename the folder.
2. Use your FTP program to download, then edit, then re-upload your /{new admin folder name}/includes/configure.php file to point to the new admin foldername (several parts to edit in the file)

After installing the patch and trying to change the admin folder, I can no longer access my store front!!! Any help would be appreciated!

I just checked again and changes (and changed back) the right one
admin/includes/configure.php

I followed the security update. And was able to log into my admin last night. But I had been logged in before I started the update. Today I when I try to get in I get a message login failed. Before I made the changes I was always taken to a log in page. I checked my admin/configure php. and it has been changed to my new name. How do I get back to the log in page? I have checked the email I was sent and I did all steps.
