Paypal orders suddenly stopped showing up

I use 1.3.8, and have had it running fine for almost a year. The last two orders to the site got an error on the last step, though the Paypal payment went through to our account. We have no record of their order in the admin section, though.

I haven't changed anything, so I'm not sure what's up.

Did your hosting company change anything on the server/firewall?
You said "I haven't changed anything" ... but sometimes people say that but don't remember things like:
Did you add any addons?
Did you install any patches?
Did you make any customizations?

Um ... care to be more specific about "what" error? The exact error message, and as much info about symptoms and how to replicate the problem, would be most useful.

Sounds like something's breaking while the order details are being saved.
