For some reason this error code just showed up on my Admin page, I haven't made any changes to my files or directories:

Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/content/b/o/p/bopeep1/html/zencart/images/

I haven't done any upgrades or addons or made any changes to anything other than products. My version is 1.3.7.

If nobody but you does stuff on your site, then ask your host if they changed the permissions on the images folder. If not, then look for a possible hack. There may be rogue files in that folder.

In order for you to upload (write) images to the folder, it needs to have CHMOD permissions of 0777.

You are unable to "write" to this folder (directory) because the permissions have been changed.

If this is the first time you are trying to add a new product after installing zencart, then please read the first page of the install docs regarding file permissions.

If you have no idea what CHMOD or permission settings means, then look it up on wikipedia. They explain it quite nicely.
