Shipping weights & costs

Hi, I am using the following version of Zencart

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8

I have a question & I have been trying to do this my self for the last 2 hours but with
no luck, I want to define the shipping charges by weight. so up to 1000g (1kg) the cost
will be £5.65 even if there are 5 items. I can't seem to be able to configure this?? Up
to 5000g (5)KG £7.00 & up to 20000 (20KG) £10.00 I have tried & tried, I have looked for
a tutorial, but each thing that I alter seems to make it worse, I keep looking at the
check out each time I alter something & now I think the shipping cost is £5 million &
something to send a T shirt!!!???? Is anyone able to help at all??? I also want the weight of the items at check out to appear in Grammes & KG's??!!

You would use the Table Rate for that, set to weight. Setting the table parameters is done in the configuration in admin. There's an example there - it looks complicated, but if you study it, it isn't really.
