Default I added Attribute : GIFT WRAP - how do i add value?

    Under Gift Wrap:
    1 Gift Wrap? Birthday +$2
    2 Gift Wrap? Christmas +$2
    3 Gift Wrap? Hannakau +$2
    4 Gift Wrap? Generic +$2
    5 Gift Wrap? None $0

How can I add this to product? so when client picks Birthday, it would add $2 to the shopping cart?

If you visit this link http://www.utoypia.com/moreinfo.php?ID=3839&Name=Lamaze

you will see the customer has the option of adding gift wrap... i have added an attritbute, but their is no price.

for value: i add the title Birthday +$2 is this were the price goes?
If yes, then where do i add the title Birthday?

Need help and appreciate anyone who can help out.

    Cheers

Attributes are tricky little things to set up and get your head around at first. I will try and explain it briefly on how to set it up

    1) Go to Catalog - Option Name Manager (this is where you define the attribute name - so in your case Gift Wrap:)
    • en = the name
    • order = the sort order
    • option type = dropdown, radio button etc
    • Click Insert to finish

    2) Next go to Catalog - Option Value Manager (this is where you define the values in the list - birthday, christmas etc)
    • i would start off by clicking 'Display global Features' at the top and setting that to no
    • Then in option name choose the name you set up in step 1 (Gift Wrap)
    • en = the value ( birthday, christmas)
    • order = sort order ( the order they appear)
    • Click insert
    • Repeat these until you have set up all your values

    3) Next go to Catalog - Attribute Controller (this is where you set it for a product)
    • Fisrt you need to chose the product you want to add it to, once chosen click 'Display'
    • Scroll down to the 'ADDING NEW ATTRIBUTES' section - and choose the option name and value
    • scroll down abit more and add in the extra price
    • once done click insert
    • You have to add each value seperatley (there is a mod where you can select more than one ata time)

Sorry for my ramble, i hope it all makes sense and it is useful!!
    Good luck

    Scott
p.s - i think there is a section in the FAQ's about setting up attributes

Thank You, it worked... is their a way to apply the setting to all categories, rather then one by one for each product? It would take me days!

Yep, once you apply attributes to a product in a category you can copy it accross to the rest of the category..

Once you have added the attribtutes, if you scroll up to the top of the page you will see a box with 6 buttons in, the one on the end says ' copy to category'

    :)

Amazing thank you kindly, one last question - when I add the attribute to a product that is on special, it changes the attributes $ value.

Example, the $ value = $2 for all products that want to add Gift Wrap

The $2 value does not change when I apply it to products that have regular price, but when I added it to a product that is on discount rate, it decreases the $2 value... why? is their an option to make the attribute show up as $2 Flat?

I fixed it, the same section where you set $value, their is an option to enable discount rate or not.

    Thanks for all the help
