Default Shipping - Not available at this time ... and tax problems too

    Hi,

I tried using this tutorial to set the tax rate for my state (Colorado), however, after doing so people from other states can't purchase any products, they get the message "Not Available at This Time" on the shipping page. They can only buy if they live in Colorado. Not good.

So then I found another tutorial, or maybe it was a post on these forums, that said to create United States as a shipping zone, then select "All Zones." Well, this allowed people from different states to purchase, but from what I could tell, it wasn't applying the Colorado tax rate when buying within CO.

Soooo, how does one successfully set up the tax rate for Colorado, as well as allow other states to buy goods?

Much thanks in advance. I'm using the latest Zen Cart.

    Justin

You create 2 seperate zones, combining both solutions you already mentioned. One for CO, and the other for USA (all zones).

    Thanks for your help, slomojojo.

I tried your suggestion and thus created the two separate zones. While the tax rate works now, for some reason ZC won't allow people to buy outside of Colorado. I know I'm doing something wrong. Soooo, I took screen shots of the Zone Definitions and Tax Rates' area.

Any ideas of what I'm doing incorrectly?

    Thanks again.

What shipping modules do you have enabled?
Inside each of those modules is a "Shipping Zone" option. What do you have selected in there, and why?

Ahhh, just the questions I needed to hear. I went to the installed shipping module (UPS) and changed the zones from Colorado to United States. Now it's all good in da hood.

Thanks a million. Okay, a lot.
