Table Rate by Zone

I think it's a Table rate by zone but it's not working the was I want.

I am setting up a store for a customer who wants the following shipping rates. They are shipping single CDs so there is no weight recorded and freight can not be based on price or by the piece.

All shipping rates are flat charges per order, based on the following.


Domestic = North America / US, CA
--------------
USPS
1. US POSTAL (1ST CLASS) 6.00
2. US POSTAL Priority Mail 7.95

UPS
1. UPS 2nd Day Air 12.00
2. UPS Next Day Air 22.00


Foreign = Europe & Asia
-------------
USPS
1. Global Priority Mail 12.00
2. Postal Express Mail 32.00

FEDEx
1. Foreign FEDEX ECONOMY 65.00
2. Foreign FEDEX Express 85.00

My install is 1.3.8a clean install. I am using a template but this should not alter the shipping.

The problem is;
DOMESTIC
two(2) postal rates in the US and
two(2) UPS rates in the US.

INTERNATIONAL
two(2) mail rates International and
two(2) FedEx rates International

I think Zen Cart defines this as Offline rates so, I think, attaching to USPS will not work because it calculates live rates. I think?

So are you saying ....

that the Real Time quotes from UPS and USPS and FedEX are NOT the ones you want to use, but rather that you want to use "your own charges" with "your own text" to make it "appear" to offer multiple shipping methods?

That is correct. I have cloned the Flat.php into 4 new methods but now the owner wants two more.

When I wrote the original post, I did not want to tackle the cloning thing, but I eventually did.

This is the only method I can think of to get the job done. Is there a more simple way to skin this cat?

Since these are Flat Rates based on Zone, it would be easier to just clone a few more as you did for the others ...
