I looked through the other posts and saw some sort of related but nothing exactly the same. I also bought the zen-cart "manual" and have read the shipping section over and over, but still cannot solve this inconsistency.
I have inherited a zen cart and am trying to fix existing problems.
One is that when combining virtual items with physical items the free shipping seems to have a variable outcome. The following is an overview of my scenario:
1) Most of the items in the store are virtual and have their shipping configured as following:
Product is Virtual: = Yes, Skip Shipping Address
Always Free Shipping: = No, Normal Shipping Rules
2)There are 4 physical items in the store, which of course are configured as Product is Virtual: = No, Shipping Address Required
(I have Free shipping! module turned on.)
When testing various combinations of virtual items and physical items and going to checkout, I see that sometimes it applies the shipping rate for the physical item and sometimes it doesn't.
I've checked multiple times to see if there are any different settings for the various products, but they are all set up the same, so why would they cause the free shipping to over-ride sometimes and not others.
I need to fix this so there is shipping charged on the physical items at all times, no matter what they are combined with. Help please.
