Items in Cart Disappearing, Reappearing - FEC

I have been setting up a brand new install of Zen Cart because I have been experiencing issues with my old install ever since my server experienced a hard drive failure.

In the old install, the very first item a customer added to their cart would disappear if they chose to view their cart again.

In the new install, I am now discovering that things are not well. When you create an account and then go shopping around on the site, you start to find issues.

- Sometimes when you click "Add to Cart", the page will refresh like something has happened, but the item has not actually been added to your cart.

- Sometimes you will remove an item from your cart, but later when you add another item, or delete another item, it will reappear in the cart.

I am tearing my hair out because I have spent WEEKS trying to fix the old install and then setting up the new install because I finally gave up.

If anyone out there can help, I will be grateful.

I am using the most recent version of Zen Cart: 1.3.8a

If you want to see the bugs, you need to click around a LOT adding items and removing items from your cart. I have experienced the issue after creating an account for myself and then going shopping.

The only plugins I am using are: Canada Post Shipping , Fast and Easy Checkout , and Additional Images

Please help, if someone can fix this, I will be eternally in their debt!

First things first... accounts cannot be created in your store, as upon submitting the registration form I get "Your Telephone Number must contain a minimum of 3 characters.", but the telephone field has been removed.

OK, I've enabled the telephone number in the account creation form and I will deal with that error later. Thank you for pointing out the telephone issue.

Second, I have discovered that my touch pad isn't working well, so sometimes when I click, nothing happens. SO that part of the errors is accounted for.

So the things that are happening when I test are items disappearing at times, and reappearing at times. These symptoms are very random. (I am using Firefox and I will be testing in IE right away, plus on another computer)

Im getting very similar errors. very random. cant replicate anything.. just like you, i have items reappearing in the shopping cart after being removed, etc..
im using 1.3.7 .. i have a lot of different plugins installed.

anyone was able to resolve this issue?

just reread your original post. out of the 3 plugins that you have installed, we both have only one - Fast and Easy Checkout.. could be the reason. i will try to uninstall.. see if it changes anything.. this issue has annoyed a few of my customers already..

I'm having the same error as well and guess what - I use Fast and easy checkout also!!

Did you work out how to sort it?

I made a right hash of it as well.

Please get back to me asap otherwise Im crusing for a brusing from my boss!

i uninstalled my old version of FEC plugin and installed a new one. everything seems to work very well now..

I've done that and it still seems to happen. I reverted files back to what they were and ran that uninstall script. Still seems to happen though .
