Change to Gallery view for New / Featured / All products link?

I have enabled the following links in category sidebox. But only the "special" page is showing the gallery view, i.e. several pictures in a row. All the other 3 pages are showing one product per row. Anyone know which option in the admin panel is to change it to gallery view? I've searched a long time, but can't find. I guess "special" has this feature, so as the other 3.

Check the settings in Admin - Configuration - Index Listing

I've tried all the options, but none of them works. I'm not referring to the promotion box in the center area, but the links in the category box that direct me to a new page of new products, featured etc....
