tax BUG?? tax rate is applied twice!

Hi all please help:
I am having a problem with the tax rate, is calculating the tax twice at checkout. it shows like this.

Your Total
$79.90
Sub-Total:

$19.50
Per Item National (Best Way):

$5.59
FL TAX 7.0% + FL TAX 7.0%:

$104.99
Total:

To have it calculate correctly I had to change it to 3.5%. other wise it would calculate 14% instead of 7%. However, it shows the "FL TAX 7.0% + FL TAX 7.0%" label.

Any ideas what is causing this?

PS: I am using 1.38, have shipping set to calculate tax at store location, and tax is set for Florida (originally at 7%), goods are also calculating at store location.

I just had this happen yesterday and finally figured it out. I recently added new Zones for Continental and Non-Continental shipping so remove Alaska and Hawaii. When do this I ran a script, but somehow under my existing Florida zone FLORIDA was added again.

So, check out your Florida zone under Zone Definitions. Make sure you do not have it in there twice. If so, remove one.

I recently set up VAT for the EU and then the UK (part of the EU)- the result was two lots of taxes for the UK until I removed the Uk zone from the EU list
