    Hi ,
We had a phone call from Paypal today. They just called to inform us that Zencart will not be ready with 3d secure on 21st January. Zencart team need another 4 weeks (if it happens) to sort this out .

They advised us to use other carts instead.

If you can inform paypal team about the 4 week delay , why cannot you update this thread with the timeline?

As paypal is a core module we do not want to make changes to the core files and create our own version of the module and the closed source development makes it harder to know what is going inside. All the other major carts have implemented this feature including OScommerce.

    You have been misinformed.

We are actively working with PayPal and Cardinal Commerce to resolve the issue as soon as humanly possible. At NO TIME during our discussions was a delay of 4 hours, 4 days or 4 weeks discussed.

You do not have to change software or anything else. The only effect at the moment is that you can not accept Maestro debit cards after Jan 21, until the update is available.

While other programs may have the feature available now, we are using a different method for the communication that is more secure and less apt to be hacked.

This is a little more serious than we first thought as PayPal have just told us we won't be able to accept Mastercard either!

No one contacted me, I contacted them about a totally different issue. I asked them if tomorrow was the absolute deadline and they said yes, for mastercard as well.

Okay - Do you have contact info for the person you talked to? We have been informed that it only affects Maestro.

    Not according to their site

    https://www.paypal-business.co.uk/3Dsecure.asp

What happens if I don't implement 3-D Secure?
Due to MasterCard compliance requirements you will not be able to process Maestro cards online. All other card types are not affected by this change.

A question though.. Does the change that's being developed only support 3D for Maestro or will it add Mastercard and Visa 3D as well?
    My Server Versions:
    Zen Cart 1.3.9h, Apache 2.2.17, PHP 5.2.17, MySQL 5.1.54
